It is summer time here! I've a page filled with the most stunning ceiling fans and some history -- I was quite surprised when I learned that ceiling fans have been around even before electricity. History of ceilings fans goes back to the Roman, Greek and Ancient Egypt time periods. Fans at that time were suspended from the ceiling and powered using steam or turbine and were operated by humans. First electric fan was invented in 1882 by a German engineer, Philip Diehl. Since then, they have taken different forms, colors and included two to six blades. Ceiling fans became very popular during the energy crisis in 1974 -- as a very good alternative to expensive air-conditioning.
There is so much more to talk about this invention, but all I will do here is share a few stunning spaces for you...
