Contemporary Pendant Lighting

Which Pendant Light is your favorite? I really can't pick! Aren't they absolutely stunning? I did some reading and want to share my notes with you..

Contemporary pendant lighting comes in three types - mono-point, multi-point and mono-rail.  Mono-point, as the name suggests, is a single light fixture, and multi-point is more than one light fixture that is attached to the same power point. Mono-rail is similar to track lighting.  Depending on your style, room size, and functionality, you should consider choosing one of above three types.

Make sure the room gets ample light. For example, a pendant light above the dining room should be centered so that light spreads all over the table. Monorail pendants should be turned to where the light is needed. You can add additional recess lighting to supplement the pendants.

Pendant height should be approximately between 28 to 34 inches above the dining table or the counter-top. Most latest pendants come with LED bulbs, which is energy efficient, try to avoid incandescent light bulbs if you can.

Ultimately, this update to your kitchen or dining room should be functional and enhance the style of your home. Look forward to hearing from you!
