Preparing Your Home Ready For Winter

Fall season is the time to get the home ready for winter. With so much to do, I have just one to tip on this page to keep the rodents away.  Rodents invade an estimated 21 million homes just in the United States every winter. Did you know that mice can squeeze through a hole the size of a pencil eraser, and rats can squeeze through a hole the size of a half dollar! Key is to stop them from entering your home and to safely get rid of them from your home. I am a huge fan of eco-friendly products, and I recently sampled Earth-Kind products which are made exclusively of botanical fibers and oils, and most importantly are safe around children and pets.  They contain absolutely no poisons or toxic materials. It works by using a unique combination of ingredients like lavender, orange and cedar that give off a scent that is pleasant for most species but absolutely intolerable to rodents. Their products come in pouches that can be easily distributed around the house. I feel quite ready to handle at least the rodents for now!

Commercial cleaning services are always a good investment to safe guard your home from bugs, bacterias and other germs. You should consider a through cleaning at least once a year if possible. In the long run, this will save you tons of money that would otherwise go towards your doctor. I bet we can all do a nice job if we want to... but we don't own the equipments nor the kind of products that these cleaning companies use. It is not worth an investment to buy these commercial cleaning products for a home.

For your home, you should consider these services if applicable - kitchen deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, floor cleaning and sanitation, gutter clearance and removal, and pest control. This way, you can easily maintain your home through out the year after such a through cleaning.
